Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of building systems in our Baltimore, MD portfolio. You will supervise engineering staff, coordinate preventive maintenance, and manage contractors to ensure safety, efficiency, and tenant satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on expertise in BAS, HVAC and electrical systems, strong communication with tenants and vendors, and the ability to respond quickly to incidents.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 5–7 years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or mentoring experience.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain; licenses per local/state/national requirements.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, energy management software, CMMS, and building operational platforms.
• Familiar with fire/life safety equipment and procedures.
• Proven ability to interact with tenants/vendors/contractors and leadership.
• Familiarity with blueprints and code requirements.
• Ability to work after hours, weekends, and emergencies.
• Ability to read/write English to understand manuals and write reports.
• Knowledge of BAS, HVAC, and electrical controls with troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Oversee service contractors and ensure building standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers.
• Oversee scopes of work and contract compliance.
• Conduct regular building inspections and address deficiencies.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and execution.
• Record readings and ensure systems operate to standards.
• Follow safety protocols and OSHA/NEC/NFPA regulations.
