Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Lead Building Engineer in the Fairfax, VA area to oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of building systems. The role includes supervising engineers and technicians, coordinating preventive maintenance, and managing service contractors to ensure safe and efficient operations.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of BAS, HVAC, and electrical controls, plus supervisory experience and the ability to interact with tenants and vendors.

Qualifications

• Requires high school education or GED; five to seven years related experience or commensurate certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and maintenance of building systems to ensure safe, efficient performance.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs for the building.
• Oversee service contractors and ensure compliance with building standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians; support staff performance goals.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable operations and address issues.
• Identify scopes of work with vendors and oversee contract terms and quality control.
• Conduct regular building inspections and address deficiencies; manage preventive maintenance schedules.
• Record readings and ensure systems operate per standards; follow safety protocols and report hazards.
• Communicate with teammates, leadership, vendors, tenants, and clients in a professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
