Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of building systems in an in-office role in the United States. You will supervise engineering staff and contractors, coordinate preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in the industry, supervisory experience, and BAS/HVAC expertise.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Five to seven years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least one year of supervisory, training, and/or mentoring experience.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain as requested; licenses required per local/state/national rules.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, energy management software, CMMS and building operations platforms.
• Familiar with fire/life safety equipment and procedures.
• Able to read/write English to understand manuals and write reports.
• Strong knowledge of BAS, HVAC and electrical controls; troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HVAC, plumbing and electrical equipment conditions.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Oversee service contractors and ensure compliance with standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians; set performance goals.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors and managers to ensure reliable operations.
• Oversee vendor scopes of work and quality control.
• Conduct regular inspections and address deficiencies.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and ensure execution.
• Record readings and ensure building systems operate per standards.
• Follow safety protocols and OSHA/NEC/NFPA regulations; train staff and maintain logs.
• Communicate with teams, vendors and tenants professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
