Job summary

cw is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer to ensure efficient operation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in a commercial property. The role may involve supervising maintenance staff and coordinating contractor work.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in operating building systems, with a relevant license or EPA 608 certification and proficiency in Outlook, Excel and Word. On-site work and shift responsibilities may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; apprenticeship or trade school preferred.
• 5+ years of related trade experience in operating mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Appropriate trade license or permit may be required (Journeyman/Master Electrician, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in commercial buildings.
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and assign tasks.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections per manufacturer specs.
• Develop and update building-specific maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and technicians on projects.
• Maintain stock and inventory; respond to emergencies and outages.
• Prepare monthly reports and keep management informed.
