Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Lead Building Mechanical Engineer in the United States to guide a team of engineers in developing HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler calculations for diverse buildings. The role requires interpreting NFPA and building codes, sizing ductwork and distribution systems, and selecting equipment.

You will supervise drafting and modeling using AutoCAD and Revit and craft specifications in Word and Speclink.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Leads a team of engineers in developing HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler calculations.
• Extensive experience interpreting mechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes (NFPA).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all activities performed by the team of engineers.
• Interpret and apply mechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes accurately.
• Coordinate with other disciplines in reviewing HVAC, plumbing and fire sprinkler drawings/specifications.
• Draft and model HVAC, plumbing and fire sprinkler systems using software tools.
• Develop specifications for HVAC, plumbing and fire sprinkler equipment.
