The role requires interpreting codes and NFPA standards, coordinating with other disciplines, and mentoring junior engineers, with hybrid work options from nearby offices or remote Northeast travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Professional license (PE) preferred.
• Typically requires 5+ years building mechanical engineering or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler calculations for various projects.
• Interpret mechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes and NFPA standards.
• Size ductwork, plumbing, and fire sprinkler distribution systems for optimal functionality.
• Utilize software tools to draft and model HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems.
• Review drawings/specifications for accuracy and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Draft detailed specifications for equipment and systems.
