Brown and Caldwell seeks a Lead Building Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers in HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler design for building projects. The role requires interpreting mechanical, plumbing, building, and NFPA codes and overseeing drafting/modeling with AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of building mechanical engineering or related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all activities performed by the team of individual contributors in building mechanical engineering.
• Ensure that the team properly interprets mechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes accurately.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines in reviewing HVAC, plumbing and fire sprinkler drawings/specifications.
• Leverage software tools to draft and model HVAC, plumbing and fire sprinkler systems.
• Develop specifications for HVAC, plumbing and fire sprinkler equipment using suitable software tools.
• Hold the responsibility for achieving unit objectives as set by upper management.
• Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and fostering a culture of engagement, growth, and accountability.
• Oversee workload planning, performance management, and team operations to align resources with business objectives while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
