Job summary

Brown and Caldwell seeks a Lead Building Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers in HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler design for building projects. Qualifications

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of building mechanical engineering or related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all activities performed by the team of individual contributors in building mechanical engineering.
  • Ensure that the team properly interprets mechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes accurately.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines in reviewing HVAC, plumbing and fire sprinkler drawings/specifications.
  • Leverage software tools to draft and model HVAC, plumbing and fire sprinkler systems.
  • Develop specifications for HVAC, plumbing and fire sprinkler equipment using suitable software tools.
  • Hold the responsibility for achieving unit objectives as set by upper management.
  • Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and fostering a culture of engagement, growth, and accountability.
  • Oversee workload planning, performance management, and team operations to align resources with business objectives while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

Lead Building Mechanical Engineering Manager - Water / Wastewater Industry

The Lead Building Mechanical Engineeringroleleadsa team of engineers in developing HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler calculations for various building projects.The roleinterpretsmechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes to ensure compliance with industry standards.Theroleisinvolved withsizing ductwork, plumbing, and fire sprinkler distribution systems, and selecting appropriate equipment.The roleoverseesthe drafting and modeling of these systems usingAutoCADand Revit software, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Additionally,the roledevelopsspecifications for HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler equipment in Word and Speclink.The rolereviewsdrawings and specifications, coordinating with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration and project success.

Experience

  • Typically requiresaminimum of8years of building mechanical engineering or related experience.
  • Typically certified in Brown and Caldwell's Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) Framework, and progressing through the SMS competencies.

Education

  • Abachelor’sdegree in mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent experience is required.

Salary Range: Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $117,000 - $159,000
Location B: $128,000 - $175,000
Location C: $140,000 - $191,000
