Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. seeks a Senior Building Engineer to join a collaborative Property Management team supporting an office property.

You will operate, maintain, and optimize mechanical/HVAC, electrical, fire safety and building management systems, while ensuring compliance with codes and safety directives. You will manage lighting, energy usage, and life safety, prepare task estimates, and coordinate with outside contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 8+ years in electrical systems, refrigeration and/or HVAC.
• Universal CFC certification; additional certifications in electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems and process controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of budgets and operating costs; ability to perform basic financial analysis.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents; strong problem-solving and quantitative skills.

Responsibilities

• Complies with codes, regulations, and directives related to building operations and safety.
• Operates, maintains, monitors and performs maintenance on building systems (HVAC, electrical, life safety, BMS, lighting).
• Maintains property appearance and engineering spaces; manages lighting systems and replacements.
• Prepares estimates for time and material needs; manages supplies and materials.
• Oversees outside contractors and inspections of work such as HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, remodeling, etc.
• Performs complex tasks (carpentry, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, welding) and uses work order systems; responds to emergencies.
• Provides guidance and training to coworkers; coordinates tasks within the team.
