Job summary

Microsoft seeks an experienced Senior Building Automation System (BAS) Design Engineer to support design, review, integration, and standardization of building automation for critical facilities. This is a contract role through Allegis Global Solutions, with remote work across the United States and approximately 40 hours per week.

The role focuses on reviewing BAS vendor submittals, validating compliance with standards, developing controls engineering deliverables, and advancing scalable

Qualifications

• 8+ years in BAS, controls engineering, or related facility disciplines.
• Experience developing complete BAS design packages including schematics and sequences.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC controls and facility automation strategies.
• Experience reviewing BAS vendor submittals and engineering packages.

Responsibilities

• Review BAS submittals, shop drawings, and technical packages for compliance.
• Evaluate sequences of operations, points lists, schematics, and network diagrams.
• Provide technical review comments and track issues to resolution.
• Validate BAS hardware architectures and networks using BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, MQTT.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and facilities teams during design reviews.
• Develop complete BAS design packages and maintain design standards and templates.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
