Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a Building Automation Engineer in Seattle, WA (Remote). The role focuses on reviewing BAS submittals, coordinating with MEP teams, and expanding to produce complete BAS design packages.

You will work with BACnet and Modbus protocols and hands-on DDC/PLC controls experience. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in BAS design, strong documentation skills, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Visio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, or related engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience reviewing BAS vendor submittal packages against a design standard and issuing grounded comments.
• Ability to independently produce complete BAS design packages including sequences of operations, points lists, controls schematics, diagrams, and schedules.
• Strong knowledge of BACnet and Modbus, and of DDC and PLC controls platforms.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Visio.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to convey design intent.

Responsibilities

• Review BAS vendor submittals, check sequences of operations, points lists, and diagrams against design standards, and track comments to closure.
• Coordinate daily with mechanical, electrical, and facility engineering counterparts on design reviews, RFIs, and field issues.
• Expand to producing BAS submittal packages directly for ongoing projects.
