Job summary

HDR is seeking a senior leader to serve as Major Bridge Technical Director within HDR’s Transportation Business Group. The role focuses on guiding the technical direction of major bridge projects, directing staffing, and ensuring HDR standards are consistently applied across projects.

Candidates should bring extensive bridge design experience, leadership capability, and a proven track record in long-span projects and complex delivery methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in structural engineering or equivalent.
• PE or P.Eng license with SE preferred; reciprocity possible.
• 20+ years of bridge project and client management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, directing, and monitoring large multi-disciplinary bridge projects.
• Provide technical oversight and problem-solving across teams.
• Ensure design and production meet HDR standards and client requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive staff development and training.
