Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Senior Leader to serve as Major Bridge Technical Director within its Transportation Business Group. You will champion technical leadership across major bridge projects, directing staffing, training, and delivery while upholding HDR standards.

You will mentor engineers, drive business development and ensure QA/QC across diverse, multi-disciplinary teams distributed across North America, Canada and beyond. HDR offers employee-owned culture and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
• Professional engineer license (PE or P.Eng) with SE preferred.
• 10+ years bridge design and client management experience.
• Experience leading major long-span bridge design projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, directing, and monitoring large bridge projects.
• Provide technical oversight and cross-team coordination.
• Deliver bridge design and production leadership with design teams.
• Perform complex structural analysis for long-span bridges.
• Mentor junior engineers and supervise staff.
• Support marketing, proposals, and client relationships.
• Oversee QA/QC and project documentation.
• Drive staff selection and on-site technical support for major milestones.
