Job summary

HDR is seeking a Major Bridge Technical Director to lead HDR’s Bridges and Structures portfolio within the Transportation Business Group. You will provide strategic technical leadership for long-span bridge design and guide multi-disciplinary teams from concept through construction.

This senior role requires PE or P.Eng, SE preferred, and a track record of delivering major bridge projects, with strong client development and mentorship across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering; PE license; SE preferred.
• 20+ years of bridge project and client management experience.
• Experience leading design teams on cable-stayed or long-span bridges.
• Experience with design-build, progressive design-build, or P3 delivery.

Responsibilities

• Champion leadership in planning, directing, and monitoring large, complex bridge projects.
• Provide proactive technical oversight and cross-team coordination.
• Deliver technical leadership for bridge design and production efforts.
• Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for long-span projects including various bridge types.
• Cultivate client relationships and support marketing and design initiatives.
• Oversee QA/QC procedures and reviews of bridge plans.
