Job summary

Jacobs in the United States seeks a lead structural engineer to grow our long-span bridge practice. You will lead design teams, perform complex analysis, prepare final contract documents, and provide construction support on large-scale projects nationwide.

The role requires a Masters in structural engineering, a PE license, 15+ years of experience, and a proven track record with cable-stayed, arch, and segmental bridges. The base salary ranges from $175,000 to $300,000 with a hybrid work policy.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in structural engineering or related discipline.
• PE License with ability to obtain license in multiple states; SE License desirable.
• A minimum of fifteen years of demonstrated professional experience including Engineer of Record or Lead Engineer in charge of final design, construction documents and construction support services.
• Experience in long-span bridge projects including cable-stayed, arch, and segmental bridges.

Responsibilities

• Represent Jacobs' technical capabilities within your areas of specialization in assigned locations, markets, and at industry events.
• Serve as a Technical/Task Lead on projects, including Design-Build, and lead staff for engineering analysis and contract document development for long-span bridges.
• Direct multi-office staffing, plan and coordinate staff, and ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.
• Oversee Project Engineers, Engineers and Technicians to maintain quality and client interfaces.
• Mentor staff and promote best practices with technical leadership on complex bridges.
• Engage with clients and contractors in meetings, presentations, and reviews.
