Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior bridge engineer to lead long-span and complex bridge projects across the Americas. You will oversee design teams, perform technical planning and analysis, and provide construction support to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will manage client interfaces, contribute to business development, and guide staff through design and construction phases, with a strong emphasis on design-build delivery and meeting stringent project goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in structural engineering or related discipline.
• PE license; SE license desirable; multi-state licensure preferred.
• At least 15 years of professional experience including Engineer of Record or Lead Engineer.
• Experience with long-span/complex bridges and design-build delivery.
• Proven leadership of multi-discipline design teams.
• Strong project management and client interfaces.
• Established professional network in client/contractor community.
• Knowledge of design codes for highway and rail/transit bridges.
• Proficiency with major structural software: Midas, RM Bridge, CSiBridge, LARSA 4D, Sofistik.

Responsibilities

• Represent Jacobs' technical capabilities in assigned locations and markets.
• Serve as a Technical/Task Lead on long-span and complex bridge projects.
• Establish work plans and staffing for bridge projects; coordinate staff across offices.
• Direct activities of Project Engineers, Engineers and Technicians to meet schedule and budget.
• Ensure overall quality and coordination; manage client interfaces.
• Mentor and upskill staff engineers.
• Represent Jacobs at client meetings, hearings, and presentations.
• Contribute to business development, proposals, cost estimating, and negotiations.
• Sign and seal contract documents, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
