Job summary

Wilmington Trust Institutional Services (IS) is seeking a Senior Business Process Engineer to lead end-to-end process redesigns that improve efficiency, controls, and client experience. The role requires BPMN and Visio proficiency, plus Lean Six Sigma and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience, or a combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience.
• Ability to document processes accurately, in detail, using BPMN 2.0
• 5 years Financial Services Experience
• Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Certified or Agile certification
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deconstruct problems and propose solutions
• Experience handling multiple tasks and working under time constraints in support of various assignments
• Strong design and systems thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements and ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance standards.
• Interview process SMEs, process owners, and Division managers to identify and understand their processes.
• Assess risks, gaps, and control weaknesses; identify issues needing escalation to management.
• Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk.
• Document information using analytical tools and process maps; leverage Visio and BPMN.
• Document and map current state business processes and design an improved future state.
• Ensure process documentation is consistent with governance procedures and templates.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging LEAN, Six Sigma, and Change Management methodologies.
• Support change management for redesigned processes adoption.
• Collaborate with change enablement on communication, training, and implementation of changes.
• Ensure official process documentation aligns with approved procedures.
• Promote process excellence to reduce costs, cycle time, errors, and risk.
• Develop and monitor KPIs/KRIs to track process performance and metrics.
• Adhere to risk and regulatory standards and the company risk appetite.
• Promote belonging and the M&T Bank brand within Institutional Services.
• Maintain internal control standards and address audit/regulator points.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
