Job summary

WuXi Biologics in the UK seeks a Senior Business Development Manager to expand our Research & Preclinical Services portfolio. You will identify, develop, and secure opportunities with biotech and pharmaceutical partners, and drive pipeline growth through strategic outreach and account planning.

This role requires strong scientific understanding, consultative selling, travel as needed, and collaboration with scientific advisors, project managers, and marketing teams to deliver tailored solutions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management within life sciences.
• Ability to identify and develop new opportunities and build customer relationships.
• Strong commercial judgment and ability to translate needs into solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and events.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities with biotech and pharma organisations in the UK territory.
• Drive new customer acquisition and pipeline growth through proactive outreach and client visits.
• Build and maintain relationships to expand accounts and cross-sell services.
• Develop territory business plans to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Communicate WuXi Biologics' capabilities and value propositions to clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Scientific Advisors, Project Management, and Marketing to tailor solutions.
• Gather market intelligence on trends, pricing, and opportunities.
• Support strategic initiatives with customer feedback and opportunity assessment.
