Job summary

WuXi AppTec Group is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to expand the Biology Division in the United States. This remote role (preferred location Boston) leads a team, manages the sales pipeline, and drives revenue targets while maintaining WuXi’s values and policy standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (biology or chemistry) with 5+ years industry experience and 7 years of business development experience preferred.
• Experience leading a team of remote workers.
• Experience in CRO is required.
• Track record of achievement in positions with significant accountability.
• Willingness to travel (car, train, plane) frequently.
• Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and passport.
• PC proficiency and familiarity with CRM tools.
• Demonstrated success at managing multiple opportunities and projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a high-performing team; implement processes delivering repeatable success.
• Develop and execute an annual business plan to meet revenue goals.
• Establish rapport with internal leaders and key customers to gather feedback and inform strategy.
• Create new opportunities and expand the customer base.
• Identify key decision makers for WuXi Biology and engage them.
• Daily prospecting to generate new leads and qualify opportunities.
• Support proposal negotiations to close contracts and act as the main contact for WuXi Biology customers.
• Travel as required to meet clients and attend conferences.
