Job summary

Avfuel Corporation in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Senior Billing Associate to join our Billing Department. The role focuses on accurate invoicing, timely issue resolution, and strong collaboration with sales and customers to ensure excellent service.

You will prepare customer invoices, monitor billing arrangements, and meet strict daily deadlines while maintaining high data integrity. Office is onsite; 40 hour work week with day shift.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• 3+ years of progressive billing, accounting, accounts receivable, or related experience
• Experience with billing and payment systems preferred
• Experience with Oracle ERP preferred

Responsibilities

• Create customer specific invoices within internal systems; monitor and make changes for special and varied billing arrangements
• Independently and timely communicate with customers and Sales team to effectively assist and resolve issues
• Meet strict daily deadlines while ensuring accuracy and excellent customer experience
• Proactively communicate issues and concerns with manager and sales staff
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring billing errors and implement corrective actions
• Develop, maintain, and update process documentation to ensure procedures remain accurate and current
• Train and support new team members on departmental processes, systems, and responsibilities
• Other special projects and duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• 3+ years of progressive billing, accounting, accounts receivable, or related experience
• Proven success resolving customer disputes and complex billing exceptions
• Background in high-volume transaction processing environments
• 3+ years customer service experience

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
