SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead design, development, and optimization of battery energy storage systems across projects.

This fully remote role requires coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant solutions. The role emphasizes technical leadership, feasibility analysis, and hands-on support through procurement, installation, commissioning, and optimization, with ongoing mentoring of junior engineers.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years electrical engineering experience with BESS/renewables.
• Expert knowledge of BESS control strategies, algorithms, and optimization software.
• Proficiency in power system analysis tools (PSS/E, PSCAD).
• Technical SME for applicable codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC).
• Experience with grid operations and regulatory requirements (FERC Order 841, IEEE 1547).
• Strong understanding of fire protection requirements (UL9540, NFPA855).
• IEC 61850 SCADA/EMS knowledge.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as SME for BESS engineering scopes and provide technical direction.
• Lead design and engineering of BESS, ensuring contract compliance.
• Review feasibility studies, site assessments, and system sizing analyses.
• Collaborate across electrical, civil, structural, SCADA, and HV scopes.
• Manage Engineers of Record and third-party partners.
• Coordinate with fire protection engineers and AHJs.
• Develop and review specs, drawings, and procurement docs.
• Provide procurement oversight including vendor reviews.
• Support design, procure, install, and commission of BESS systems.
• Oversee modeling, simulation, and reliability improvements.
• Provide field-level engineering support during construction and commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering excellence.
• Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes.
• Support business development with technical inputs.
