Job summary
SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead the design, development, implementation, and optimization of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across projects. This role focuses on technical direction, engineering oversight, and ensuring performance, reliability, and safety requirements are met.
The position is fully remote with travel as needed; candidates should have extensive experience in BESS, renewables, and power systems, and be familiar with NEC, IEEE, and utility
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience with focus on BESS, renewables, or power systems.
- Expert in design, integration, and optimization of battery energy storage systems (lithium-ion, inverters, BMS, grid interconnection).
- Proficient in power system analysis and simulation tools (PSS/E, PSCAD).
- Familiar with NEC, IEEE, NESC, NFPA, and utility standards.
Responsibilities
- Serve as SME for BESS engineering scopes and guide project teams.
- Lead and manage design and engineering of BESS systems for compliance and delivery.
- Review feasibility studies and site assessments to optimize configurations and augmentation.
- Collaborate across electrical, civil, structural, SCADA, and HV engineering scopes.
- Coordinate with Engineers of Record and third-party partners to ensure timely delivery.
