Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of battery energy storage systems. You will guide technical direction across electrical, civil, SCADA, and HV scopes, oversee procurement and field-related activities, and mentor junior engineers.

This fully remote role reports to project leadership and requires travel as needed. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in BESS/renewables with strong knowledge of codes and grid interconnection, and a PE

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
5+ years of electrical engineering experience with focus on BESS, renewables, or power systems.
Expertise in design, integration, and optimization of battery energy storage systems.
Familiarity with BESS control strategies and optimization software.
Proficiency in power system analysis (PSSE/PSCAD) and simulation tools.
Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NESC, NFPA, and utility standards.

Responsibilities

Lead design and engineering of BESS projects ensuring compliance with contracts and AHJ requirements.
Provide technical direction to project teams as SME for BESS scopes.
Review feasibility studies and site assessments to optimize configurations.
Coordinate with fire protection engineers and local authorities.
Develop specifications, drawings, and procurement support for BESS components.
Oversee testing, commissioning, energization, and initial synchronization.
Mentor junior engineers and support business development with technical consultations.
