Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of battery energy storage systems. This role provides strategic technical direction, oversees engineering work, and ensures reliability and safety across projects.

The position is fully remote with interview-discussion of location expectations. The candidate will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive project success while staying current with NEC, IEEE, and utility

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; master's preferred.
5+ years in electrical engineering with focus on BESS, renewables, or power systems.
Expert knowledge of BESS components, control strategies, and interconnection standards.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME for BESS engineering scopes, guiding project teams.
Lead design and engineering of battery energy storage systems to meet requirements.
Review studies, site assessments, and sizing analyses for optimal configurations.
Coordinate with cross-functional scopes (electrical, civil, SCADA, HV).
Mentor engineers and support business development through technical consultations.
Stay current with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
