Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of battery energy storage systems across projects nationwide. This fully remote role offers opportunities to influence engineering direction and project delivery.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage procurement support, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while staying current with industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience focused on BESS, renewables, or power systems.
• Expert knowledge of BESS components and grid interconnection equipment.
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA and utility standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a SME for BESS engineering scopes; guide project teams.
• Lead design and engineering of battery energy storage systems.
• Review feasibility studies and size analyses for optimal BESS configurations.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline engineering scopes and third-party partners.
• Develop technical specs, drawings, and documentation for procurement.
• Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay current with industry standards.
• Travel as required to support project execution.
• Represent SOLV Engineering in customer meetings.
• Support business development with proposals and technical consultations.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
