Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of battery energy storage systems. The role offers full remote work with location details discussed at interview, reporting to the SOLV Engineering team.

You will guide project teams, manage third-party partners, and ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, and utility standards while delivering safe, reliable energy storage solutions across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years in electrical engineering with focus on BESS, renewables, or power systems.
• Expert knowledge of BESS components and grid interconnection.
• PE license preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NEC,IEEE,NFPA, and utility standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for BESS engineering scopes and guide project teams.
• Lead design and engineering of BESS, ensuring contract and utility compliance.
• Review feasibility studies and sizing analyses for optimal configurations.
• Coordinate with fire protection engineers and AHJs as needed.
• Develop technical specs, drawings, and procurement documentation.
• Provide oversight during procurement, testing, and commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay current with industry standards.
• Travel as required to support project execution.
