Placements24 is recruiting on behalf of a premier events and catering company in Randburg, Gauteng, for a Senior Banqueting Manager. The role oversees flawless execution of all banquets and catered events, ensuring an unparalleled guest experience.

Lead and train the banqueting team, coordinate with sales and culinary colleagues, manage event schedules and resources, ensure health and safety compliance, and contribute to budget control.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in banqueting management or senior event management within hospitality.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
• Strong understanding of event logistics, service standards, and client management.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate the banqueting team to deliver exceptional service standards.
• Oversee all aspects of banquet operations from setup to breakdown for seamless execution.
• Liaise with sales and culinary teams to meet and exceed client expectations.
• Manage event schedules, staffing and resource allocation for banquets.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Conduct pre-event and post-event briefings with the team.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for banqueting services.
• Manage inventory of banquet supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Handle guest inquiries and resolve issues during events promptly and professionally.
• Contribute to budget management and cost control within the banqueting department.
