First Merchants Corporation is seeking a Senior Customer Relationship Representative to join our team in Merrillville, IN. You will deliver high-quality customer service by accurately completing bank transactions, opening accounts, and processing loan applications while identifying products to meet clients’ financial needs.

Responsibilities include relationship management, complex transactions, and driving sales through deposits, lending, and digital tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least 1 year banking, sales, or related experience; at least 6 months selling products or services.
• S.A.F.E Act registration required by employment and must be met within 3 months of hire.
• Notary Public designation must be obtainable.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• In-depth knowledge of bank products/services across all lines of business.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional client experience by handling complex service and relationship needs in a busy banking center.
• Understand clients' financial situations and recommend integrated solutions across product lines.
• Act as escalation point for advanced inquiries and service issues.
• Strengthen client relationships through service insights to build loyalty and advocacy.
• Maintain accurate client records to support relationship building and onboarding.
• Perform and oversee complex monetary and non-monetary transactions with accuracy and adherence to controls.
• Open new consumer and business accounts and process loan applications with high accuracy.
• Lead by example in achieving sales goals and supporting performance metrics.
• Mentor junior staff and assist in onboarding new hires.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and policy requirements.
