First Merchants Bank is seeking a Customer Relationship Representative to join our team in Merrillville, IN. You will execute on sales and service metrics, open deposit accounts, process loan applications, and promote digital tools to meet clients’ financial needs.

You will deliver an exceptional customer service experience, balance transactions, and support branch operations while adhering to regulatory and internal controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least 1 year of banking, sales, or related experience.
• Notary designation and ability to obtain Notary Public.
• S.A.F.E Act registration via NMLS required within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of First Merchants Bank products/services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality customer service by addressing a wide range of banking needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactively engage clients to understand financial needs and recommend products, services, and digital tools.
• Maintain accurate client records and support relationship management.
• Process daily banking transactions and adhere to internal controls.
• Lead sales and service activities to meet branch goals and deepen client relationships.
• Collaborate with team and assist Banking Center Manager with audits, balancing, and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with regulations (BSA, CIP, OFAC, EDD) and complete required training.
