Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Bank Controller to lead the bank accounting function during a growth phase. You will direct day-to-day operations, manage a growing team, and own regulatory reporting and financial controls for the business.

The role requires CPA/CA, 10+ years in accounting/finance, and 5+ years of people management, with a strong focus on GAAP and regulatory needs. This is a remote-first position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA designation.
• 10+ years in accounting, finance, or treasury-related roles.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Experience scaling an accounting team in a similar industry.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting.
• Proven cash management and modeling skills.
• Extremely detail oriented with strong critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bank accounting team with strategic direction and coaching.
• Partner with cross-functional teams for seamless operations.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure timely regulatory filings (FFIEC 041, Part 363, Federal Reserve).
• Coordinate the annual bank financial statement audit with external auditors.
• Collaborate on process automation with engineering and product teams.
• Provide strategic financial analysis and project support.
