Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Bank Controller to lead the bank accounting function during a growth phase. You will build and manage the accounting team, set priorities, and partner with finance and engineering to scale processes in a remote-first environment.

The role emphasizes monthly reporting, regulatory filings, audits, and analytics, with visa sponsorship not available. A CPA/CA and 10+ years of experience are expected, along with strong GAAP knowledge and leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in accounting/finance roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Bank accounting team with strategic direction, recruitment, and coaching.
• Partner across functions to drive effective financial controls.
• Oversee monthly external and internal financial reporting.
• Build regulatory reporting processes (FFIEC 041, Part 363, Fed).
• Coordinate annual bank financial statement audit with external auditors.
• Collaborate with engineering/product to automate accounting processes.
• Manage financial analysis and cross-functional projects.
