Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Bank Controller to lead the accounting team and own bank reporting in a remote‑first environment across the United States. You will drive monthly financial closes, coordinate with auditors, and build scalable processes with engineering to automate reporting.

The role requires a CPA/CA, 10+ years in accounting/finance, and at least 5 years managing teams. You will partner with cross‑functional leaders to ensure accurate, timely filings and strong governance.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA designation required with at least 10 years in Accounting/Finance.
• Proven leadership of accounting teams and cross‑functional partners.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the bank accounting team with strategic direction and coaching.
• Serve as primary liaison with cross‑functional partners across the business.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain a regulated reporting function for filings.
• Coordinate annual external financial statement audits with auditors.
• Collaborate with engineering/product to drive reporting automation.
• Manage financial analysis and special projects as needed.
