Job summary

Affirm is seeking a self-motivated Bank Controller to lead the bank accounting function during a growth phase. You will build and mentor the accounting team, partner with engineering and product, and oversee monthly financial reporting and regulatory filings.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA designation required.
• 10+ years of accounting, finance or treasury experience.
• Minimum 5 years of people management experience.
• Experience building tools and processes to scale an accounting team.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting.
• Proven cash management, analysis and modeling experience.
• Detail oriented with strong strategic focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the bank accounting function.
• Build and develop the accounting team with strategic direction and coaching.
• Serve as primary liaison with cross-functional partners (engineering, product, etc.).
• Oversee monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders and regulators.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual bank financial statement audit.
• Drive process automation with engineering/product teams to improve reporting.
• Manage additional finance processes and special projects as needed.
