Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Bank Controller to lead the accounting function during a growth phase. You will oversee daily operations of the bank accounting team, ensure accurate monthly close, and coordinate with internal partners and external auditors.

This remote-first role requires strong GAAP knowledge, regulatory reporting experience, and a proven ability to scale finance teams. You will collaborate with engineering and product teams to automate processes, build robust reporting, and support

Qualifications

• Leadership experience managing a banking/finance accounting team.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to coordinate audits and external reporting.
• Experience building scalable accounting processes and automation.
• Minimum 10 years in accounting, finance or treasury-related roles.
• Minimum 5 years of people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bank accounting team and drive strategic direction, recruitment, and coaching.
• Serve as primary liaison with cross-functional partners across the organization.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including regulators.
• Build and maintain a regulated reporting function (FFIEC, Part 363, Federal Reserve).
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual bank financial statement audits.
• Partner with engineering/product teams to automate accounting/reporting processes.
• Manage additional finance projects and perform strategic financial analyses.
