Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Coinbase Advisor team. The role focuses on backend services for agentic trading, with collaboration across frontend, product, and compliance to deliver trustworthy user experiences within regulatory guardrails.

You will own design-to-launch backend capabilities, integrate with trading APIs, and evolve the agentic harness and prompts. This is a remote-first, hybrid-position with quarterly in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend focus.
• Strong API design, distributed systems, data modeling, testing and debugging production failures.
• Proficiency in Go or ability to learn quickly.
• Experience building production LLM or agentic systems with tool calling, orchestration or evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Own backend services powering Coinbase Advisor and Strategies from design to launch and operation.
• Build integrations with Coinbase trading APIs for correct, auditable execution.
• Develop agentic harness, including tool calling, orchestration, state, and recovery.
• Shape agent behavior via prompt engineering, evals, and conversation analysis.
• Improve service reliability, latency, observability, and safeguards against duplicate actions.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, design, trading infra, and legal/compliance to ship features within guardrails.
