Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Coinbase Advisor team within the Consumer & Business group. You will own backend services powering Advisor and Strategies, building integrations with trading APIs to translate recommendations into executed actions.

You will shape agent behavior through prompts, evals, and conversation analysis, partnering with a registered investment adviser. Responsibilities include improving reliability, latency, and safety while collaborating

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering with backend focus.
Experience with API design, distributed systems, data modeling, testing.
Proficiency in Go or ability to learn quickly.
Experience building production LLM/agentic systems.
Ability to take ambiguous projects to production with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

Own backend services powering Coinbase Advisor and Strategies from design to operation.
Build integrations with trading APIs to translate recommendations into execution.
Develop agentic harness including tool calling, orchestration, state, and recovery.
Shape agent behavior via prompts, evals, and analysis with the adviser team.
Improve reliability, latency, observability, and safety of actions.
Collaborate with frontend, product, design, trading infra, and compliance.
