Coinbase, Inc. is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Coinbase Advisor team within the Consumer & Business group. This role is primarily backend on a full-stack team, owning services that make agentic trading fast, clear, and trustworthy for millions of customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend expertise.
• Strong API design, distributed systems, data modeling, testing, and debugging production failures.
• Proficiency in Go or ability to learn it quickly.
• Experience building production LLM or agentic systems with tool calling or orchestration.
• Ability to take ambiguous projects from zero to production with sound product and technical judgment.
• Commitment to responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own backend services powering Coinbase Advisor and Strategies from design through launch.
• Build integrations with Coinbase trading APIs to translate recommendations into execution.
• Develop the agentic harness: tool calling, orchestration, state, and recovery.
• Shape agent behavior via prompts, evals, and conversation analysis with the investment adviser.
• Improve reliability, latency, observability, and safeguards against duplicate actions.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, design, trading infra, and legal/compliance within guardrails.
