Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build a next‑generation reliability platform for production systems. You’ll blend distributed systems with AI‑assisted development to give teams a single view to understand, debug, and improve health of services.

You should have 4+ years in software engineering, with experience in Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes, plus frontend work with React or Vue.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Proficient in Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Experience shipping web apps using React or Vue.
• Practical use of LLMs or AI frameworks to enhance automation with guardrails and citations.
• Ability to define technical plans for large features with elegant design.
• Strong ownership and ability to work through ambiguity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for global teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities
