Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first company hiring a Software Engineer to design and build a next-generation reliability platform for production systems. You will blend distributed systems with AI-assisted development to help teams understand, debug, and improve service health.

You’ll lead teams, collaborate across product, design, and analytics, and push for quality and ownership through code reviews and shared standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale (Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes).
• Experience shipping web apps with React or Vue.
• Experience with LLMs or AI frameworks for automation and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics across the lifecycle.
• Identify and lead efforts to resolve project, process, tech or business issues.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts with metrics and on-call efforts.
• Set and improve code review and design standards across the org.
