Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Retail DEX) to build data-driven trading systems powering onchain and offchain experiences within the Coinbase app. You will design scalable pipelines and services for millions of users across Base and Solana.

You’ll contribute to low-latency data processing, smart contract interfaces, and robust backend components from design to production in a remote-first, hybrid environment with quarterly in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend data systems experience in production.
• Experience with data-intensive systems and large-scale data infra.
• Proven ability to build and operate data pipelines.
• Experience with onchain smart contracts on Ethereum/Base or Solana.
• Ability to improve software velocity with agentic-first patterns.

Responsibilities

• Integrate new blockchains, DEXs, and launchpads into the Coinbase app.
• Design and implement onchain trading primitives and smart contracts.
• Scale real-time data pipelines to handle high message throughput.
• Optimize the trading stack for fast execution and broad asset coverage.
• Advance agentic-first development practices to improve velocity.
