Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Backend (Retail DEX) to connect onchain and off-chain trading systems within the main Coinbase app.

You will build scalable data pipelines and design smart contracts for onchain trading, enabling millions of traders across Base and Solana. You will work on real-time data processing, integration with Kafka/Clickhouse/Redis, and help push the boundaries of trading performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering in production data systems.
• Experience with large-scale data infrastructure integration.
• Experience with onchain contracts on Ethereum/Base or Solana.

Responsibilities

• Integrate new blockchains, DEXs, and launchpads into Coinbase app.
• Design and implement onchain trading primitives in smart contracts.
• Scale real-time data pipelines to 100K+ messages per second.
• Optimize trading stack for fastest execution and asset coverage.
• Develop agentic-first software patterns to accelerate team velocity.
