Job summary

Affirm is building a scalable batch compute platform to support ML, product, and financial engineering workloads. The team emphasizes reliability, high availability, and self-serve compute for large-scale batch jobs across cloud environments.

You will lead engineers, own quarterly goals, and collaborate with product, design, and analytics to balance risk and deliver impactful features with clean, extensible design. Remote-first with flexible office options.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with Python or Kotlin and distributed architectures.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes and MySQL.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect.
• Ability to own quarterly goals and lead engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities
