Job summary

UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement in Evanston, IL, seeks a Lead Azure Cloud Engineer to drive cloud modernization, architecture standards, and secure, scalable infrastructure. You will lead MSP-based teams and shape strategy across major cloud platforms.

You will guide Terraform-based IaC, Ansible automation, and GitHub Actions pipelines, while mentoring engineers and promoting best practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of cloud engineering/architecture experience.
• Minimum 3 years leading cloud transformation initiatives.
• Experience guiding MSP or outsourced teams across time zones.
• Strong cloud security and governance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of enterprise cloud infrastructure across AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Direct MSP-based engineering team and ensure delivery against SLAs.
• Define cloud architecture standards and governance frameworks.
• Design and implement IaC using Terraform; CloudFormation where needed.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
