Job summary

UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement seek a Lead Azure Cloud Engineer in Evanston, IL. You will define, design, and advance enterprise cloud infrastructure strategy while guiding MSP teams, establishing standards, and delivering secure, scalable solutions.

You will mentor engineers, drive Terraform-based IaC, and oversee CI/CD pipelines and governance. The role requires deep cloud experience and a hands-on, results-driven approach to modernization and risk reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and at least 8 years of cloud engineering experience.
• Experience leading MSP-based engineering teams and coordinating across time zones.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise cloud infrastructure across major platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Direct an MSP-based technical team, assign work, review deliverables, and enforce SLAs and standards.
• Serve as primary escalation point for MSP-delivered services and collaborate with vendor leadership on staffing and quality.
