Job summary

UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement seek a Lead Azure Cloud Engineer to shape enterprise cloud strategy from our Evanston, IL office. You will own design, optimization, and governance of cloud infrastructure across providers, lead MSP teams, and set standards for security, cost efficiency, and reliability.

You will mentor engineers, drive Terraform-based IaC and CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver resilient cloud solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or equivalent required.
• 8+ years in cloud engineering or architecture.
• Experience leading cloud transformation initiatives.
• Experience managing MSP/vendor engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of enterprise cloud infrastructure across major cloud providers.
• Direct MSP-based engineering team and enforce runbooks and SLAs.
• Define cloud architecture standards and governance frameworks.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
