Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced avionics hardware engineer to lead the design of boards and assemblies for spaceflight systems. You will handle concept through production release, including analog/digital board interactions, verification, and design reviews.

You will collaborate on architecture trades, risk analyses, and mission assurance efforts while applying rigorous quality and safety practices in a fast-paced environment focused on safe human spaceflight.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field with 10+ years of direct experience in electronics hardware development.
  • Direct hands-on experience developing sophisticated commercial or aerospace electronic assemblies.
  • Experience with analog, digital and mixed-signal circuit analysis, simulation, design, test, debug, signal integrity, power and board layout.
  • Familiarity with computational devices to supervise sensors and control actuators; design, development and verification.
  • Excellent technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop avionics hardware (boards and integrated assemblies) across lifecycle stages from concept to production release.
  • Develop analog and digital boards interfacing with avionics systems, incl. power electronics, compute, networking, sensors and actuators; perform design reviews and verification.
  • Support architecture trades studies, performance characterization and device selection.
  • Contribute to risk analyses, FMECA, DFx and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
  • Participate in program technology development, mission assurance and process improvements.
