Job summary

Blue Origin is hiring for a senior avionics leadership role within the Spacecraft Bus Avionics team. You will drive requirements, design, analysis, testing and reviews for space-rated electronics, including boards, sensors and FPGAs, in a high-reliability environment.

You will mentor engineers, define architecture with customers, and oversee the full design cycle from concept through qualification and flight support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years hands-on experience designing ruggedized electronic components.
  • End-to-end development for a space-rated component from requirements to production.
  • Experience designing hardware for radiation environments and space qualification.
  • Experience integrating optoelectronic and electromechanical components into flight hardware.
  • Strong digital design: FPGAs, CMOS sensors, and DDR memory.
  • Hands-on PCB design using Altium Designer, impedance control, EMI/EMC.
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end product development for a space-rated component.
  • Lead cross-disciplinary design teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in flight hardware design cycle and qualification.
  • Collaborate with customers to define requirements and architecture.
  • Incorporate PCB interconnects, signal integrity, and power integrity analyses.
  • Lead design trade studies and document interfaces.
  • Plan engineering tests and data reviews, present findings.
  • Mentor junior engineers and review team designs.
