Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Engineering Operations lead for the Core Avionics Team on the Lunar Permanence program. You will drive the electronics design-to-manufacturing lifecycle, manage budgets and schedules, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver flight-ready avionics hardware.

You will mature technology for space-rated systems, coordinate with suppliers and internal facilities, and communicate risks and recovery plans to leadership.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or closely related field.
• 7+ years in electronics design and manufacturing operations on technical programs.
• Experience from concept through production of electronics hardware.
• Experience with SMT, through-hole, conformal coating, potting, and final test procedures.
• Experience with electronics design tools (Altium, Cadence) and MES.
• Experience with electronics supply chain management and obsolescence.
• Knowledge of critical path scheduling, risk management, and EVM as applied to electronics hardware programs.
• Experience with Agile/project management and Jira in electronics environments.
• Experience with MS Project or Primavera scheduling.
• Experience with managing electronics manufacturing subcontracts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain IPT operating cadence and report metrics (technical, cost, schedule, risk).
• Monitor health of electronics design/manufacturing processes to reduce cycle time.
• Coordinate integration of Core Avionics with Lunar program operations cadence.
• Prepare boards/tools for reporting design, yield and test results for reviews.
• Support agile product planning and manufacturing capacity planning.
• Mentor teams and lead cross-functional electronics handoff processes.
• Lead tiger teams for design challenges and manufacturing issues.
• Track hardware configurations and manufacturing specs across IPT deliverables.
• Coordinate with internal/external facilities to ensure on-time flight hardware delivery.
• Oversee electronics design reviews, readiness assessments, and supplier qualifications.
