Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a senior avionics leader to own the development, delivery, and sustainment of spacecraft avionics hardware, including flight computers, I/O units, and embedded controllers. Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in design, development, build, integration, test, or verification of avionics, electronic hardware, embedded systems, or high‑reliability hardware.
  • Experience owning complex hardware products through full development lifecycle including architecture, requirements, design, integration, verification, production, and sustaining engineering.
  • Expertise in flight computers, embedded controllers, I/O hardware, analog/mixed-signal electronics, digital electronics, power electronics, FPGA‑based systems, or related areas.
  • Ability to communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, and decisions to program and leadership stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development and technical delivery of complex avionics hardware products, architecture, interfaces, and production path.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership through design, build, integration, verification, qualification, production, and sustainment; balance performance, safety, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Lead hardware test and anomaly-resolution efforts with bench testing, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action development.
  • Serve as primary technical integrator across electrical hardware, mechanical packaging, embedded software, FPGA, controls, and mission assurance.
  • Mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, and drive improvements to quality, efficiency, and mission success.
