Job summary

Blue Origin in Reston, Virginia is seeking an Engineering Operations lead on the Core Avionics Team. You will oversee the electronics design and manufacturing operations, maintain IPT cadence, and manage budgets, schedules, and risk to deliver flight-ready avionics hardware.

The role requires a BS in EE or related, 7+ years in electronics design and manufacturing, experience with PCB design, SMT/through-hole, MES, and Agile project management.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in electronics design and manufacturing on complex projects.
• Experience from concept to production of electronics hardware.
• PCB design, component selection, and process optimization.
• Experience with SMT and through-hole assembly.
• Experience with supply chain management and obsolescence control.
• Experience with EVM/IMP-IMS scheduling for electronics programs.
• Knowledge of Agile practices and Jira in electronics environments.
• Strong collaboration and communication with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain IPT operating cadence and report KPIs (technical, cost, schedule, risk).
• Monitor health of electronics design/manufacturing processes in workflows.
• Integrate Core Avionics into program operations cadence with dependencies.
• Create boards/tools for reporting weekly reviews and management reviews.
• Support IPT representation in agile planning and capacity planning.
• Coach teams in self-organization and design-to-manufacturing handoffs.
• Lead Tiger Teams for electronics design challenges and manufacturing issues.
• Define and track all receivables and deliverables for IPT with BOM config tracking.
• Coordinate design reviews, manufacturing readiness, and supplier qualification.
• Mentor teams, promote leadership, and embody Blue Origin principles.
